Brief about Scholarship:
Aegis has established Alexander Graham Bell scholarships as a tribute to the father of the telephony, Sir Alexander Graham Bell. This scholarship is intended to promote the innovation in telecommunication and to provide recognition for outstanding contributions in this field and also hunt for the potential best brains who can be groomed as leaders and scholars in this field.
These awards are for following category:
For Candidates working in IT and Telecom Firms

3) Alexander Graham Bell Award for Bachelors and Masters degree holders in the field of Engineering, for 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007 batches.
These scholarships shall be awarded through national competitions carried out in transparent manner by the selection committee comprising of eminent people from the academia and industry.
This scholarship endorses Aegis's commitment to hunt the best brains and edifying their careers. We believe that any high caliber individual should not be deprived of higher education opportunities due to lack of financial resources. This attempt will also ensure a reliable supply of highly qualified personnel to meet the needs of growing telecom industry.
Alexander Graham Bell Scholars receive:
- Certificate and Medal of Alexander Graham Bell Scholar in a award ceremony.
- Certificate of Basic Aptitude Test for Employability (BATE).
- Guaranteed admission to Masters Program in Telecom Management (MPTM)/ MBA /MS in Telecom Management or EMPTM/ EMBA in Telecom studies at Aegis.
- This scholarship covers up to 100% tuition fee waiver of INR 450,000 in Full Time Masters Program in Telecom Management (MPTM)/ MBA Telecom and 300,000 in Part Time Executive Program/EMBA.
Eligibility for category 3 (students):
- Minimum score of 65% or 7.0 CGPA for BE/BTech, MCA, M.Tech, MSc and MS in Final year 2010 batch all branches.
- Minimum score of 70% or 7.5 CGPA for BE/BTech, MCA, M.Tech, MSc and MS for batch 2009, 2008 and 2007 all branches.
- For candidates from IITs, NITs (former RECs), Mumbai University, Pune University and top 30 Engineering colleges in India Minimum score of 65% or 7.0 CGPA (on 10 scale)
Please note that:
- Candidates having 60% - 65% in Final Yr BE/B Tech (2010 batch) can appear for BATE test. If they clear the test and interview, they will be admitted to Masters Program in Telecom Management (MPTM)/ MBA /MS in Telecom Management at Aegis. However they do not qualify for Alexander Graham bell scholarship, but they can apply for work assistance/ part time jobs.
- The same condition is valid for candidates having 60% - 70% in BE/B Tech (2007, 2008 & 2009 batch)
Selection Process:
The selection committee comprises of eminent leaders from industry and academia under the guidance of Mr. V. P. Chandan, Director, Aegis; Former President, Qualcomm India; Consultant, World Bank.
Selection process for Category 1 and 2 (experince candidates):
- Submit a white paper/ proposal/ concept note. The white paper should contain an abstract of not more than 500 -1000 words or one page and the paper itself should not exceed three pages.
- Short listing

Selection Process for Category 3 (Bachelors and Masters degree holders in the field of Engineering, for 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007 batches):

Candidates can bring the recommendation letters at the time of interview and test.

Brief about the Masters Program in Telecom Management (MPTM):
The Aegis Masters Program in Telecom Management (MPTM) is a 45 credit hrs One year full time residential program. It is commonly known as an MBA in Telecom Management in India and an MS in Telecom Management in U.S.
The MPTM program was started in 2002 with Bharti Airtel's support to develop future telecom leaders, who understand technology and are able to perform in various functional areas in the telecom domain. It enables telecom managers, not only to understand telecom technology but also to take the right decisions on managerial, commercial and regulatory aspects.

l)Global Credit Hrs System:
Globally accepted Credit hr based model. aegis MPTM/ MBA/ MS in Telecom Management is a 45 credits hrs program equivalent to any internationally recognized masters degree.
m)Work assistance ship commonly known as Part Time jobs to all selected and enrolled candidates for MPTM program. Part Time jobs are available with Aegis School of Business and other companies like Jaina Systems, Inner Circle, LeadCap Ventures, Aspiretech and Bach Connections. Candidates need to work for 15 hrs a week and they get Rs. 5000 to10,000 per month.
